5 Lifestyle Bloggers to Follow (Fashion, Beauty & More!) – February 2017

Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday ❤

There are countless of blogs out there, so I began this blogging series in December in hopes to share the incredible sites I come by. This month’s picks happen to include more fashion and beauty related blogs, but you’ll find these bloggers have an array of interests that are seen on their sites. If you have a blog of your own or adore a particular one, please feel free to share it and meet others.

5 Lifestyle Bloggers to Follow - February 2017.jpg

Each month I feature five of the best lifestyle blogs I come across and follow. The blogs featured in this favorites series are directed by individuals who have an incredible niche for fashion, makeup, and/or skincare.

One of the first style blogs that stood out in February of 2017 is CIISTAFFAIRS by Minneapolis-based blogger Valentine. Her fashion blog is full of personality and documents her personal style, often featuring outfit combinations that range from casual everyday wear to items fit for the runway.

Another stunning blog that will inspire you when you’re in need of some fashion inspiration is The Bottle Blonde. Sydney Wilfley, the blonde behind this welcoming blog, writes she’s a “lover of fashion, beauty, food, and all the fund things in life.” Expect holiday lookbooks, seasonal style trends, and bold lip colors!

Heathermoors is a creative space where thoughts are delicately and gracefully expressed through photography. The style blogger also responds to different literature and invites you to discuss them with her. Heather lets her readers into her mind not only by her writing but by her manner of dress.

For those who are more interested in all things makeup, Catty Natty Beauty by Natalie is a refreshing cruelty-free beauty blog that provides great insights on bunny friendly makeup options. The Chicago-based blogger reviews products, which range from makeup to skincare, and informs of promising subscription services.

Baking can be challenging and prove to be quite the nemesis for many people. Samantha from The Beauty Spyglass shares some of her recipes in a way that both novice and experienced cook can understand. Her lifestyle blog is not solely about the musings of a foodie, but rather a creative outlet that has a little bit of everything.

Sincerely, Ingrid Nicole

5 Lifestyle Bloggers to Follow (Travel, Fashion, & Makeup) – January 2017

Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday ❤

Last month, I started a new blogging series with the goal to share some of the best sites I encounter. There was an overall positive response to the blogging series, and I received tons of support from other bloggers. I will continue showcasing five lifestyle bloggers each month; however, I will be providing more information on the focal point of each one.

Each month I feature five of the best lifestyle blogs I come across and follow. The blogs featured in this favorites series are directed by individuals who have an incredible niche for fashion, makeup, and/or skincare.

The first blog that stood out in January of 2017 is Arctic Sabrina. This lifestyle blog has everything from travel journals to beauty product reviews. The content creator, Sabrina, is a full-time student who graciously vlogs about her interests and will give you extreme wanderlust with her travels. Speaking of wanderlust, the blog Hello, It’s Jo by a fashion intern has a great series on the kinds of things to do and places to visit in London.

If you are looking for fashion and styling inspiration, Mox and Socks by Devinne is a great site to visit. This simple and chic blog is a creative outlet for Chicago-based blogger Devinne. She has wonderful outfit ideas and easy to follow hair tutorials.

I personally am quite the beauty enthusiast, and there are two bloggers that have this in common with me. Desperately Seeking Lifestyle by Ellie is a fantastic site for makeup and skincare reviews. Based in Scotland, this lifestyle blog also has helpful home improvement/DIYs sprinkled in. Beauty and the Beach is another great blog that sings to a makeup lover and contains creative eye looks.

Sincerely, Ingrid Nicole

5 Lifestyle Bloggers to Follow (Fashion, Makeup, & Skincare) – December 2016

Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday ❤

Before I started blogging, I spent countless of hours looking through pins on Pinterest and videos on YouTube. The work of artistic and creative influencers were displayed on these platforms, and they ultimately inspired projects of my own. After creating my lifestyle blog, Alive & Living, I discovered the diverse interests of the blogging community and appreciated how bloggers expressed themselves through their blogs.

The blogs featured in this favorites series are directed by individuals who have an incredible niche for fashion, makeup, and/or skincare.

The bloggers that stood out for their work in December of 2016:

  1. Ramona Crisstea
  2. Helpless Whilst Drying
  3. Will All My Affection

IPSY Glam Bag – December 2016

december-2016-ipsy-glam-bag

Ipsy is an online beauty subscription where you sample five different products (e.g. mascara, eyeshadows, etc.) mailed in a collectible bag. There’s a lovely theme each month and products you receive are personalized according to your answers in a quiz, which is taken at the beginning of the subscription.

Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday ❤

For the month of December, Ipsy encourages you to go out and make the most of the night with the theme “Carpe P.M.” Smokey eye looks, bold liner, and glitter everywhere are all part of seizing the night, so this month’s chic glam bag includes products meant for the occasion. From jewel-toned eyeshadows to post-adventuring skincare, Ipsy has a wide selection of beauty necessities for (a night out!) this time of the year.glam-bag-december-2016

The products I received December 2016:

  1. Be Matte Blush (in Melon, Blackberry, and Guava) by City Color Cosmetics  I appreciate how this cheek palette is cruelty-free and has three different shades to choose from. Each blush swatched well and felt soft. Blackberry, the middle shade, is a bit out of my comfort zone; however, I’ll try mixing it with the other shade(s) and experiment.
  2. Aqua Gel Masque by Privai – This masque, which is cruelty-free and paraben-free, was formulated to reduce redness and quench dry skin. Since the weather has been colder here, I feel that this will come in handy. It can be used up to three times a week and plan to try it soon.
  3. Deluxe Maracuja Oil by Tarte Cosmetics – The oil is quite the multitasker… It can be used to nourish skin, tame hair, and as cuticle care. The bottle may seem small, but a little product may go a long way. I like the design of the bottle, especially since comes with a built-in dropper!
  4. Prismatic Shadow (in Jaded) by NYX Professional Makeup – I don’t think I have a shadow like this in my collection. This new addition is great since the eyeshadow’s formula is soft and has silver toned reflects. I worry that with oily eyelids it won’t hold up during a night out though (more info to come).
  5. Beauty Blending Sponge by MintPear – I was most excited for this beauty blending sponge because it is a product I have never received in a beauty subscription service; it was something different and unexpected. The creators claim the sponge won’t soak up product while creating a flawless complexion. I’ll have to put it to the test and compare it with other sponges on the market.

P.S. I post every week (well, I try too! lol).

Hello everyone! Happy Thursday ❤

My spring break has come to an end, so I am back at University. I can’t believe there are three months left in the school year! Where has the time gone?! As I mentioned in my last post, I took a mini break from blogging so I could spend time with my family on holiday. I received my lovely Ipsy bag during this break and I’m so excited to share it with you all. The theme this month is “Hello Spring” and the glam bag has a fresh floral print. What’s new this time around though, is the bag comes in three different colors (orange, mint, and blue!). I received the lovely orange with mint glam bag, which you can see below, and various beauty products.

The products I received March 2016:

  1. LIP LACQUER Lip Gloss (Socialite) by ModelCo – I normally reach for matte lip products (in natural shades) on a regular basis. Lip glosses and I just don’t get along very well. But when I received this lippy, which promised to be “non-sticky and long-lasting,” I kept an open mind. Sadly, the lip gloss didn’t wear very well throughout the day and I found it pretty sticky. The gloss smells like a fruity candy though and the color is pretty (more orange than red).
  2. Rose Gold Short Shader (Brush 223) by Luxie Beauty – I absolutely love brushes (especially when they’re durable and have soft bristles)! This brush by Luxie has high quality bristles that applies eyeshadow like a dream and is fully vegan. The pink and rose gold brush is cruelty-free and extremely practical.
  3. Step 1 Skin Equalizer (Hydrating Primer) by MAKE UP FOR EVER – The Make Up For Ever primer I received is ideal for normal skin and works to balance the skin’s texture. This is probably the product I was excited to try the most and I wasn’t disappointed. The formula is lightweight, kept my face hydrated, and made my make-up last longer.
  4. Bake Bronzer (Heat Wave) by Be A Bombshell Cosmetics – I like the idea of a baked bronzer with a more natural tone for the spring time, which is what this product was meant for. Unfortunately, the bronzer doesn’t have a great color-payoff and I personally think its better used as highlighter.
  5. Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco by Marc Anthony – This product is used when blow drying your hair and works to keep hair straight (and eliminate frizz!) for up to three days. I hardly ever blow dry my hair so I don’t see myself using this product often. It has a pleasant smell though and leaves your hair very soft.
